Tdi Input Shaft/Flywheel

Post by ELVIS »

Breaking a van at the mo and the owner did mention something about Benrd Jaegar Flywheel being recently fitted, he didnt know what as he paid someone else to do it and was quite vague

Anyways.....

Removed engine and the clutch cover has no timing marks on, the flywheel has got a small line and a '0' where TDC should be. The flywheel weighs about 9kg and is deffinitely not a JX one, looks too chunky.

Measured friction plate and it is 228mm.

Got a spare air Aircooled input shaft that i use for clutch changes (same spline size/pattern as T3) and when i put it in the centre of the friction plate, it doesnt touch the sides   i can put the shaft in the hole and it will turn and the splines dont mesh.

I am guessing i have a Tdi input shaft and one of these

ideas? :ok

ideal for that AGG conversion you are doing, or keep it for a TDi job

Does it sound like a Tdi set up then chap? Never seen one so don't know what I am looking at

Can get pics on Monday/put vernier across input shaft.

AGG is in and wired up. Just a few bits and bobs now , oh and fit the dash that was butchered out

sounds like it is the TDi set up, basically that's a certain MK3 golf TDI set up, it's well strong and with a TDI starter with adapter plate is the best way to fit a TDi engine and get some service life out of the clutch, JX clutch and machined TDi flywheel only does 20-30k
