Firewall for T25

Post by Sue P »

Hi, I need a new clutch and firewall for my T25. The mechanic says he can get the clutch but not the firewall. He's suggesting putting the clutch back without a firewall. Should I let him? Anyone know where I can get hold of a new firewall? Thanks (T25, water cooled, 1988)

Hi Sue, I'm guessing nobody has replied yet as they, like me, have no idea what your mechanic means by "firewall"! Is he thinking it's Aircooled, and referring to the tinware backplate that it would have but it doesn't, because it's water cooled?
Ask the mechanic to clarify this, report back, and we'll try to help.

It was his south London accent (or my deaf lugs), it was actually 'flywheel'. Anyone know where I could source a t25 flywheel for 228mm clutch part no: 025 105 271X?

Is it because the flywheel is scored ?
If it's only light scoring then you could take it to an engineering shop to have it faced off on a lathe.
