high idle when engine warm, gti k jet

Hi my engine is ticking over high when the engine is warm about 1500 to 2000, if i blip the throttle it will sometimes drop back down to 950 any ideas guy? its a gti 8v k jet.

Idle stabilization valve setup properly. I also seem to remember the 2E has an anti-stall valve fitted...sort of props the throttle partially open on overrun. These can also be problematic if not set correctly (obviously depends on whether these functions have been transferred during the donor operation.
Idle by-pass/throttle position/throttle position switch set correctly.

Mine was doing this when the throttle cable was worn. Replaced it and all is fine now.

Check at the engine end to see if the cable is pulling all the way back.
1986 1.9 Petrol/LPG with Devon pop up.

If not the cable, from what i can remember there is a 5th injector on the end of the inlet manifold which is linked to a warm up device bolted to the engine block to aid cold start. could be that, maybe over fueling on idle

2E is not on k jet...it's digifant

Over fuelling won't increase idle..

Thanks for all your help guys it was the accelerator cable, its funny the old one had no frays and was moving freely but its cured the problem.
