Our van has been laid up by the side of our house for a couple of years and we would like to get it going this year. I was starting it up once a month up until a couple of months ago when I think the starter motor has developed a problem. The battery has a full charge and the starter will turn once but then seem to get stuck. Once the ignition is switched off again the I can hear the motor 'release' again a few seconds later. Is it likely that the starter motor is knackered now? Is there anything specifically to look for after being off the road for so long? I'm guessing the brakes will need some attention.
