I have new roof light mechanism from campervan culture and desperately need to get the black rollers into the channel on the window.

Basically the arms don't reached far enough for the rollers to go through that large section you see in the runner

With the mechanism/window in the lowered position, the arms should reach the large part on the outer edges of the slots?

Nope, unfortunately not.

Just took the runner off the window but the black rollers won't fit through the large section either.

Do the rollers need to go through the slots at an angle, before attaching the mechanism to the roof?

(I'm just guessing, both rollers are buggered on mine and they just fall through the slots lol)

I tried that also and I risk strapping them again if I force them through.

Arms are the same as the old ones, so it's not the length. Might need to file out the holes at the end of the runners.

Cant you put one end in, then move along until the other can go through the other side and then centre up?

Ok you have re assembled it a bit weird. If the button parts of the lifter did line up with the big holes in the slide rail it would just pop out again no?

Take the slide rail off the skylight, put the big hole on the slide rail over the lifter arm button then slide the rail back to get over the other end. Then when the rail and the lifer arm are together just bolt the rail to the skylight.

You could always fit the lifter arm to the skylight runner first then to the van or I can make you a video or if you are really stuck I honestly don't mind driving down and fitting it for you.

My direct number is 07940177101 if you need me to talk you through it.

I hope this helps, it really is a very simple and worth while job to do.

Thank you chaps! Yes, last night I took the rail off but the rollers themselves wouldn't fit through the larger hole at the end of the runner. Even at an angle. Will try again this morning.

Jed, thank you for the offer of hands on help!. I'm sure I'll get there in the end ;-)
