Yup tried two different types, they aint waterproof/silt proof. Nothing keeps that stuff out it would seem

Even with the correct crimp tool you have to use the wire that completely fills the bucket as the crimps are not man enough. The do make adapters that are the correct size to fit the bucket but have different size holes for smaller cable, they are made in copper.

I've got a pair of these to fit for the purpose of jump leads being easier to access. Can anyone recommend the correct crimping tool to fix them?

After getting Al's advice about not soldering HD terminals when I was installing our Sterling I looked at crimping tools and was horrified at some of the prices (up to £200). I then found this: http://www.12voltplanet.co.uk/heavy-dut ... -tool.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It worked straight out of the box with no wastage of terminals. I just needed to plan carefully as I had cables going through panels etc and needed a flat suface for it to work but I can't recommend it highly enough.
