accelerator cable replacement

I have a brickwerks one hanging up in the garage at the moment,is this a part to be replaced as part of a service even if it feels ok or just replaced when it breaks (probably at night in the rain),have wondered about replacing it just because I have it

Are you sure it's the right length and has the right ends on it, there's a gazzillion alternatives. I'd rather get it done in the dry when its warm They dont break in my experience they just start to stick where the cable starts to ware through the guide pipe.
