1989 2.1DJ Fuel Injection Question please.

Post by Charlie1950 »

We have a 1989 2.1DJ water cooled fuel injected Trident AutoSleeper and I am wondering if anyone can tell from the photo below, (hopefully uploaded) whether the system is a Digijet or Digifant. If you are unable to identify it from the hopefully uploaded photo, can you let me know how I can determine which one it is. Also whilst B in the photo is the accelerator linkage, can anyone please tell me what "A" is for. It moves through about 140 degrees and is attached to a long spring, but if you move it round by hand it stays in position and the spring does not seem to pull it back.

Forgive my ignorance, but on a fuel injected engine does depressing the accelerator pedal twice activate an automatic choke as it does in non fuel injected engines?

I have tried looking in manuals etc but can't seem to find the answers. Any advice would be appreciated.

Charlie.

It's a Digijet System.
The arm is for when extra emission equipment is fitted. It would work a micro switch and the ball would connected to a diaphragm to limit the amount of fuel injected.
No need to touch the accelerator when starting.

Charlie, JFYI, when linking to a pic, use the "preview" button (next to the "submit" button) on the forum to check your posting. The current link has 2 lots of Image[/img]

If you just manually delete the first and last codes in the square brackets, so it looks like this =

Code: Select all

It will come out fine, like this =

Very clean looking crank cases by the way :ok

Thanks ghost, I appreciate your advice. I saw two codes in the preview but wasn't sure that was correct or not, so didn't want to delete either. I'd previously seen other posts that had obviously done the same as me so thought it was correct although, I'd also seen posts where the photo was shown as you've just done. Problem is by the time I post another photo I'd have probably forgotten!! :rofl

Thanks,

Charlie.

Didn't see your comment about the clean looking crankcases. I'd like to say it was down to me, but it's a Vege recon which had only done 700 miles when I bought the van 2 years ago, although right now they don't look quite so clean. This of course gives me the opportunity to show off the van and to test if I've got the photo posting correct now! Image[/img] :ok

Thanks once again,

Charlie.
