Re: Need a mechanic
Tamara, try to get hold of either M0ki or Toomanytoys via PM who have been known to travel to help a fellow 80-90 user in their hour of need.

New engine..?
I don't think so...someone is yanking your chain there.
You just need some new barrels and pistons.
It can be done with the engine in place.

Re: Need a mechanic
I have had no dealings of them, do this is not a recommendation, it is just to make you aware they are there.
There is a VW campervan hire company in Streatham that has it's own mechanic that sometimes does work for outside customers. Might be worth talking to.

Like I say, I have no experience of them

Re: Need a mechanic
Hi Tamara, might be worth giving Olly at T25 Direct a call for help/advice - they're based in East Dulwich so not to far away:

Re: Need a mechanic
£1000 !!
I'm in the wrong business.
Maybe it's London prices, maybe not.. they would be out of business up here
One head costs £286 complete.. FYI
two hours to fit
