i was wondering if someone can explain the difference between a t2 a t25 and a t3 im looking for parts and am trying to make sure i am getting the correct parts for the camper
Surely t2's are bays t25's are round lights air-cooled + some early water cooled and t3's are the face lift square light water cooled. I know there is some crossover.

Not quite - "T2" is a bay but "Type 2" also applies to the T25/T3/Vanagon:-

The Volkswagen Type 2 (T3) also known as the T25, (or Vanagon in the United States), the T3 platform was introduced in 1980, and was one of the last new Volkswagen platforms to use an air-cooled engine. The Volkswagen air-cooled engine was phased out for a water-cooled boxer engine (still rear-mounted) in 1984. Compared to its predecessor the T2, the T3 was larger and heavier, with square corners replacing the rounded edges of the older models. The T3 is sometimes called "the wedge" by enthusiasts to differentiate it from earlier Kombis.

You have a Type 2 van with a fantastic heritage going back to the Splitscreen vans of the fifties.
for me the type 2 marque ended with the front engined Eurovan or t4.
The type 2 T25 is a very British thing for the entire range
In Europe the type 2 T3 is how they recognise the van
It all stems from the old Aircooled VW Type numbers when they didn't make many models.
Anything built on a Beetle platform was a Type 1 (the first vehicle they made).
Anything on a van platform was a Type 2 (the second vehicles they made)
Type 3 was the Notchback/Fastback/Variant
Type 4 was the 411/412 Fastback/Variant and also the K70
VW used a second number to denote the body style so a T25/T3 is a Type 25 Van or Type 24 for a pickup further numbers denote the style, Van, Minibus, Single/Double cab (odd numbers LHD even numbers RHD). That is it's official VW designation, to source parts/information from VW you use the type number. LT vans where Type 28/29. T25 just is a shortened type number
T3 comes from the generation of it's sales name of Transporter (Vanagon in the States). Transporter one (T1) would have been the original split window, Transporter 2 Bay window, Transporter 3 our vehicles not really recognized by VW it's a Type 25/24 Transporter as far as they are concerned.
The T25/T3 and the old shape LT was the last to use the old type numbers. VW had moved onto model numbers by the time the T4 came out, a mixture of numbers and letters as there was too many different platforms, a T4 is something like 70H
