MOT checks

Post by G Dub52 »

Hello,

The van is due its first MOT under my ownership next month. I was just wondering what basic checks people do before if goes off to the dreaded test station.

I will check the what I know e.g. lights, give the bushes a quick visual, screen wash, horn etc but was wondering what hidden problem points I should check for.

Super nervous as I've got the van booked in to be LPG'd and also a big holiday so want a straight forward test and to get any work done before it goes in.

Any advice is appreciated.

Thank you. :)

The one I missed was a split rubber gaiter on the steering rack. And make sure the handbrake is as well adjusted as you can get it - it should hold the van on a hill on the third or fourth click.

Good luck!
Cheers, Neil
