Lower Balljoint adaptor

Post by rick B »

Hello

I'm renewing the lower balljoint on a 1981 T25 and I've got everything off except the 3 bolts holding the balljoint adaptor
in place. Will they just knock up and out they seem super tight !!

Thanks

Make sure bolts will twist so are not seized then try and hit upwards. Stick an old nut on end to protect threads. Got the bolts out on mine fairly easily but still needed the hammer to shift the adapter from the arm as it is a tight fit even without the bolts. Soaking it in plus gas beforehand would be a good idea. When putting back you will need some kind of lever to line up the holes to get the bolts in. I used centre punches and the tapered end of some big spanner thing I've no idea where it came from.

I was only changing springs so declined the challenge of how to get the ball joint off the adapter so good luck with that bit.
