Help with alloy wheels and wear on drum

Hi I am hoping someone can help.

I brought a 1986 T25 two weeks ago, on Monday a loud banging nice was coming from one of the back wheels.

I have been told the wheels on the van are BBS alloy wheels

We look the wheel off and found that there where no 11 mil screws on the drum as the wheels sit flush with the drum, but the drum has been moving independently and the bolt holes in the drum have worn to an oval shape rather than round.

I am sure I have seen vans with these wheels on before, is there a way to fit the wheels properly?

Pretty sure the wheel should hold the drum still once bolted down, and the 11mm bolts are only to hold the drum on when a wheel is removed, that's just what I know from working on cars and vans
I'd say you have had a lose wheel at some point
Have you removed the drum and had a look inside?

Have took the drum off, and does not seem to be any other issues on first inspection

When you say 'bolt holes' do you mean the ones for the 11mm bolts or the 5 holes in the drum that the rear wheel studs fit through?

Never heard of the stud holes wearing oval as there's very little movement(if any) when the drum is fitted?

It's the five holes in the drum

Not sure how that's happened but get the drum/drums replaced and sharpish!

if the actual bolts are oval, then you must have been driving around with a loose wheel (as said above).
Get them replaced. I wonder if, assuming they have come loose, you have the wrong type of nuts (for your wheels). There are 2 types, radiused seats and straight tapered seats. If you have a look HERE and carefully read the extra information bits, you will be able to check that.

If the holes in the hard iron drum have elongated through loose wheelnuts, then the holes in the much softer alloy wheel may very well also have been damaged. Get those checked out, too.

I'd also check that the studs have been lengthened to suit the thicker alloy wheels - if not, then the nuts'll only be using a few threads, which may well cause them to work loose more easily.
