My JX is pretty much the same. If I fill to the max mark its dropped to min by the time I've gone to the beach & back (140 miles), but it will then sit around there for a good while. The turbo orientation is limited by the length of the drain off pipe, as I found when I rebuilt mine, indexed it at 6 o'clock & found it wouldn't reach

I agree the 5 o'clock position looks wrong. I've had problems with smoke on start up when parked on an incline & put it down to oil backfeeding into the turbo due to the sump oil level, as it seems to sit quite high in relation to the turbo drain. Maybe a few of us have the wrong dipsticks? I was about to change the oil today & measure exactly 4.5 litres to see where it came to on the dipstick but my oil filters weren't in stock as promised when I went to pick them up (thanks eurocarparts

) so it will have to wait until after easter now.
