New fuel pump and now it won't idle.

Was the pump pushrod replaced with the pump?

There's a little filter in the carb too.. make sure that's clean, if you haven't already.

Yeah I replaced the push rod at the same time (OE one was a tiny bit shorter through wear). I also checked the pump was pumping during cranking.
The only thing I haven't checked is the filter in the carb itself (don't ask me why, I just didn't)
A good clean out of the carb (possibly refurb kit too) and professional set up won't do it any harm and its one less thing to worry about.
I just don't have enough time to do a quick amateur fix when I'd be looking to drive it up to northern ireland on sunday without having had a chance to give it some good test mileage local to home. I'll get it looked at after Easter then we get it doing some decent (<50 mile so the AA can relay it without additional cost) test runs and use it as my commuter for a while until I have some confidence in it.
So far its been a 75% break down rate!

After leaving the van in to get looked at after Easter, supplying a carb refurb kit, new plugs, ht leads, dizzy cap and rotor, timing checked and the carb set up the van has never ran so well. Thanks for your help guys in helping to diagnose the problem.
Looking forward to some reliability and some happy camping.
