twin headlamps
I've just got a twin headlamp kit from just kampers, I understand you have to piggyback the wiring from the high beam to the inner lights, could someone tell me the easiest way to do this please? Thanks Jeff

Re: twin headlamps
Not that easy jeff, as the correct way would be to fit new terminals to the H4 lamp sockets full beam feeds...two wires into the one terminal (best soldered).
At 60 watts each the connection is taking an additional 5 amps each side so needs to be good.
A easy way could be to remove about 1 cm of insulation to the high beam feed wire (do not cut) then solder the loop wires to the exposed sections...obviously would need re-insulating to make sound.
The bulbs will also need an earth....either by using an existing earth wire or by making separate earth points to bare chassis (paint afterwards).
It is also worth baring in mind that this additional current load will put extra strain on switches and contacts inside the vehicle and could lead to future problems as a result.
Fitting relays would be the preferred option long term.
