Hello,
I have inherited a Hydrovane 15. My old man bought it years ago (early 90's) as a back up to his main compressor in his factory. It was a couple of years old when he bought it and ran fine - then it just got left in the corner (drained) and forgotten. Now he has retired and I called dibs on the Hydrovane (thinking for some reason that it was single phase) but when I got all the way up to Bedfordshire I found it was 3 phase, I couldn't really say no thanks so loaded it up and brought it home.
Everything moves fine but I have no way of knowing if it makes air. The oil seems pristine (I think it was serviced straight away and never used after). The receiver is in good nick with no damage and it was empty so no water damage inside. Only broken part is the switch where something got dropped on it and broke the plastic.
So, does anybody know how easy is it to replace the motor with a single phase job and if that is possible am I limiting what I can use it for?
Is there anyway of getting it to run on single phase?? Some magic device!?!
If that is not possible is there a market to flog it and buy something more suitable? I want to use it for tools like a Die Grinder, Saw, Impact driver, Drill, spray gun and if possible a sand blaster.
Thanks for any help in advance!

Re: Compressors
you could possibly have some type of inverter fitted? for 240v(we have done a lathe at work so it could be used at home in garage)
may want to weigh up the costs etc
