Oil change done today, oil drips...

Post by sternal »

Had the cam belt replaced and an oil change today, recommended mechanic (ex army mechanic/still a TA mechanic) pretty happy with job.

I have noticed a slight drip of oil coming from the small 3 holes in the sump guard, there isnt any oil leaking from anywhere else and the filter is clean etc. I phoned him and he said its from when he took the oil filter off and he couldn't catch the oil, also around the oil filter is a plastic cover thing this had oil in it which I have cleaned up of any oil.
sump plug dry

Is this pretty normal ? will watch for a few days.

Dear Mr P A Ranoid.
Perhaps if you understood the oil change process (or even did this yourself) you would believe the bloke you paid to do the job
Everything will be abnormal unless you start to read and understand maintenance of your van, and any subsequent issues arising from it.
Must try harder
Rev.
:D

PS.
what is a sump guard?
