Buy the stuff in the BLACK container, it is specifically formulated for Diesel engines.
The Oil in the white bottle is primarily for Petrol engined vehicles although I'm sure it will say...'also suitable for Diesel & Turbo Diesel' engines.
Oil specifically formulated for running in a Diesel engine will generally have a higher percentage of detergent additives to cope with the increased particulate matter produced in Diesel engine combustion.
