rear lights / indicators issue

got a few probs in being that my indicators have stopped working and now the rear tail lights are flashing instead ?

PLEASE HELP

also rear number plate lights has stopped working also

Bad earth return, so the current goes back to ground via the tail lights instead.

It's probably a problem with the ground connection which I think is on the left hand side inside the engine bay. Or any connector on the brown wire. Or a brown wire broken at an old trailer socket connection.

ah that probably makes sense actaully since i have only recently removed my tow bar
