Hi guys, newb alert daft question ahoy!!
ive had a weird knocking come and go for a couple of weeks and I am pretty sure it is the drive shaft after squeezing the rubber gaitors to get some grease back into the joint the noise has subsided for the time being, there was no sign of splits in the rubber gaitors either.... Now question is this, is it possible to regrease and fit new gaitors as now the grease is in position there is no knocking?? is it obvious to the untrained eye if the actual joint or shaft needs replacing.
Ive seen a pair of used driveshafts complete and reasonably local to me on ebay would or has anyone reccommend or have used 2nd hand driveshaft.

Re: driveshaft
Doubt if it will be the shaft , as you've squished the greese around and sound has gone, strip the cv joints, clean and re greese , doing all 4 cv's should take you a morning
