Nothing happens - I guess I should hear a click? If I blow through it I get a noise (a scrunch more than a click)....
All I ask is for the chance to prove that money won't make me happy.

Re: "Pausing" When going up the gears/revs
OK. the legendary John (Ghost) has delivered wheels (many thanks) and suggested a couple of faults both of which are evident.
1. Vacuum advance on distributor not working.
2. Accelerator pump not working. I tested this by taking the air box off and getting the lad to press the accelerator - no squirt of fuel (even after several attempts).
So, a couple of questions if you don't mind...
a) I can buy a vacuum advance from Brickwerks http://www.brickwerks.co.uk/index.php/t ... it-dg.html(but is it worth replacing the whole distributor: http://www.vwheritage.com/vw_spares_Dis ... 726314.htm?)
b) Where do I get the parts for the accelerator pump and what specifically am I looking for? This? http://www.brickwerks.co.uk/index.php/c ... -19mm.html
Thanks

Re: "Pausing" When going up the gears/revs
just the vac advance will do.
the part you want is the diaphragm for the acc pump
which is pictured here as the square item with the circular diaphragm

If the BY kit comes with that then it's a good one to buy

I see that it does
