gonna change my clutch! any tips for a newb?

Post by Paul_Van_Denton »

Think I need to change my clutch as its slipping in 3rd and 4th, not much but its there! Ive been reading posts on clutch and gearbox changes but Ive never had the gearbox out before so are there any tips for a newb?

whilst gearbox is out

Change oil

Input shaft seal!

wish I knew what clutch it was but it has an unknown adapter plate from that guy we cant mention so will be interesting to see what it is!

Have knew CV bolts too.

My tip is make sure the cv bolts are clean before you try and loosen then, dirt buids up and if the allen/spline tool does not hit home it will round out
also support the box properly if you are doining it on thd ground, last time i did mine it very nearly fell on me and its 40kg, i used straps when i put it back to lift it
