Insulation

I'll post this here because it may not be widely known and I am sure I've seen it recommended in other threads.

I am having my bus sprayed. There was a lot of fibreglass insulation behind the trim. The lads in the body shop said that this should not be done as it attracts water and causes rust. They suggested there are other bubble wrap type insulation that is preferable. hey won't be putting it back.

Has anyone any views on this.

I think it's well known not to insulate with stuff that holds moisture. Unfortunately some people do not do their research first before ploughing ahead putting stuff in, that in the long term will rot their van from the inside out. A lot of people recommend that bubble stuff, but I haven't used it myself. I'm sure there's plenty on her who will vouch for it. Have a look round for an alternative if you don't fancy the bubble stuff.

You might of seen threads telling folk not to use it.Cant say i have seen any recommending it.

if it is bubble wrap, insulation properties are minimal, and it will sweat.

I tried it in a shed. disaster!

I used this in my panel van to insulate it and mainly under the rear rubber mat to kill the engine noise, works a treat so far

£99 + vat for 1.5 x 10metre roll. It would be fine if you can get hold of an offcut. Surely there's a cheaper version.
