Looking around this is what I need

There are a few sizes how would I know what size I have ? Is there a way of measuring up ?

The hose you have has metric ends. If you measure the outside diameter of the metal pipe if will probably be either 8mm, 10mm or 12mm. The thread pitch look like is it's a standard metric light thread so will be 1.5 pitch . The one you mention above is BSP (british standard pipe) so 14 TPI and won't fit. See if you've got a local hydraulic hose company (Pirtek etc) and ask them to make a hose to suit whatever you want to attach to each end.

cheers
Will have to get my calipers out over the weekend and measure the pipe, is there no way of taking the german coupling off and fitting a new one that is british ? or does that depend on the width of pipe ?
why cant there just be one standard fitting !

That might be an "R1/4" fitting, but I'm not 100%.
I bought my first camper just before Christmas and it had a westy interior but no 50mb regulator. I find one on Amazon but it had an "R1/4" connector and eventually I found a hose in Germany with that fitting on. The cooker now seems fine but the cost of these two items was £40

This is the width of pipe
And this is the width of screw bit
At a complete loss
What do I need to order ???
Is the width of pipe normal ? Can the old screw but be removed and a UK one fitted ?

Are you sure you zero'd your vernier before measuring? The analogue scale doesn't agree with the digital read-out. The outside diameter of the copper pipe should be either 6,8,or 10mm unless the Germans fitted imperial tube?
Does this help?

Most definitely zero'd as the manual reading is 3 mm

Sorry, you've lost me now? When you close the vernier and press the yellow zero button, both scales read zero. As you open the jaws the values on the digital scale & analogue stay sync'd.

Okay I'm a plonka!
8mm I was reading the inch bit !
Could this be fitted to end of copper pipe (cut German bit off) then rubber hose to regulator

Let's start again !

Yes. You would need to cut off the nut & olive fitted to the copper tube. You'd also need to crimp or o-clip the new 8mm bore LPG hose to the hose tail.

Got there in the end !
Think this product is better
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/5-16-8MM-BULK ... 1201555018" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
So cut German bit off fit above product connect new hose with o clip or could I use jubilee clips ?
...and I suppose I'm not really allowed to do this job as it's gas ? Is there some legislation that says a trained gas engineer has to do it?
Thank you for the really helpful advice

Re: what gas adapter/regulator do I need*what HOSE DO I NEED ?*
That's a bulkhead fitting. You need a :-
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/5-16-8MM-NOZZ ... 20db80c19d" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
As far as making the hose. It's your van so your choice. If you can use o-clip pliers, you can make a gas hose. Leak check the hose with Snoop or dilute fairy liquid and you should be ok.
But like I said. Your van, your choice.
