slugish engine

slugish engine
Can anyone help? Ive got a 1.9 watercoold and it has now become very slugish! eg: if i put my foot down the van seems to hesitate and will not pull, but if i lift my foot off the throtal pedal it will pick up speed?!! It also has trouble getting up hills,.Its got new plugs, leads and filters.it starts fine ticks over nicely and dosent back fire!! Hope someone can help me.cheers nick......

Afew things could cause this
Check the advance mechanism is advancing the spark
you'll need a strobe light to see it
also check the second throttle mechanism is opening the throttle butterfly.
This is operated by vacuum, take off the the air duct look down the second choke, remove the vacuum pipe to the actuator and suck.. it should open the butterfly.

Does it cut out at junctions sometimes too?
