oil capacity CS to AEF engine

Post by matt brighton »

Hi

Converted my 1.6 CS to 1.9 AEF (non turbo) some time ago and want to check total oil capacity.

CS engine capacity is 4.5 ltrs

AEF Engine capacity 5.00 ltrs

I have been filling 4.75 up to now.

As they are basically the same engine…. is the extra .5 ltr accounted for by

1 the size of the sump (which is swapped over to donor engine)
or
2 are the inner oil ways/galleries larger on the AEF than the cs

OIl filters over the years I have bought sem to differ in capacity (short or long) so might that account for variation >?

Thanks

Matt - brighton.

Its governed by the size of the sump if you used the old sump from the CS then the capacity stays the same.
