Yup, unorthodox it might be but he seemed to get a lot of fun out of the job.

Wonder if he knows the guy who had my van then? Gaffa tape across holes and then put in mastic and polyfilla, not even car filler.

Mine had a hole just above the gutter that had been plugged with an oval-shaped piece of baked bean tin. It had evidently been pushed through the hole and then held in place while the glue dried using a piece of elastic through a hole in the middle. It was then smoothed over with white bathroom sealant, and since my van is white too it looked better than it sounds!
