Radiator Fan

Post by Combehatter »

I'm scratching my head at this one...

Took Bubba up a steep ol' hill at the weekend and he got rather hot - no red light but the temp gauge went past normal and started to smell a little. I whacked the interior fan on full and as soon as we levelled out it went back to normal, phew.

So I just thought I would test the fan this afternoon as per the wiki. Bridged Reg/Black and Red/White - hey presto fan. Then bridged R/black with Red/Blue - a small sound like the fan wanting to go then nothing. I went back to red/black to red white and this time nothing...

Fed up and hungry went off for tea. Just been back down and tried again. It worked on red white again, went to red blue and it happened again!

I have looked at the fuses (after both attempts) - all fine.

What the ....?
