ady differences are they both suitable for a t25?

Post by Cyrus »

I'm looking at a suitable 2.0L replacement but noticed there's a difference in ady engines
This on looks like the standard agg/ ady engine

But this on has a plastic intake over the rocker cover

Is it just to fit a different vehicle e.g. sharan ???
Would it still fit a t25???
Anything else I need to know if I go for the latter??

Cheers cy

OK. The bottom picture shows a plastic? Inlet is that just because its a later model ady and plastic is cheaper and better plastics were available?
Also would the bottom engine still fit in a t25 bay or would that inlet get in the way of the lid?
Cheers for your help.

I'd be more concerned about the side clearance with that inlet.
I have the top ADY installed in mine.

The "plastic" inlet manifold engine is Sharan ADY, actually a 2-piece manifold. The lower half is alloy. It wraps over the rocker box pretty tightly iirc with 4 nice individual runners and without the bulk of the Golf inlet.
You'll need the complete lom and ecu, looks like the throtle body is missing off that Sharan engine (its still a cable throttle though)
