fridge panel

Post by Itsblue »

With the on going rust removal on my 81 van , ive replaced the off side sill with a nice genuine VW part , question is there a repair panel available for the fridge panel which is the correct width with seams to the sides and bottom ? i have a schofield panel but is over size and includes the sill . i suspect i may need a cut ! or a genuine fridge panel or half the panel any ideas vey very welcome ,

nope, i make the lot from scratch, so you can cut down the over panel and do it that way ,but the steel is real thin which is why i dont use it
somewhere here for one,but most of the vans ive done end up the same

And when you cit it down, middle the edge so it fits under the existing panel and plug weld through from out side, also bottom fold is shy of 90'

Been at the lower panel seams all after noon! Cut the panel down and added a seam to the left hand side, after trials of fitting and recuting trimming finally got it to look something like what it looked like before!! Pics to follow once I re size them! :ok o

pics on progress of the fridge panel ! , i cut down the schofield panel cutting the sill section off and creating a seam along the bottom with little more than a hammer and clamps and a long piece of timber to support it . then butt welded a seam on to the rear end to butt up to the rear wing ..
