Good fuel filler parts?

Post by mbcamper »

I'm wanting to order some bits to reassemble my filler neck:

- Gasket ring (behind fuel filler neck) - mine has rusted so needs replacing.
- Plastic Fuel Filler Neck Surround (I damaged my original when removing)

Are these parts good replacements?

I'm new to T25 parts suppliers so don't want to make any bad purchases or false economies.

Also my filler neck surround was riveted in place when I removed it. Is this normal? I suspect not, so what I supposed to be used?

Thanks

Mark

yeh, used both many times fits ok, check the rubber elbow that goes inbetween they normally perish.

Filler surround is held on by twisting it to lock in the teeth on the arch then screwed to the metal part of the locking cap into the rear metal ring

Alternative supplier

Stainless ring with screws

Surround

Thanks for the pointers. I've ordered the Brickwerks parts as the stainless ring looks much better. I've also ordered the rubber elbow too as it's seen better days. Brickwerks do the original VW part.
