Swapping igniton barrel into a new steering lock housing

Post by Cruz »

Am I right in assuming that you drill the old housing to get the barrel out but when you fit the barrel to a new housing it just pushes into place ?

My key turns fine and works a charm (new switch) but is there any maintenance I can do to the barrel while it's out?

Looking at the new housing it's now obvious that the barrel pushes in and then needs drilling to remove :ok

There is a measuring template (picture) kicking about somewhere....gives exact measurements for the drilling...the hole should end up directly behind the sprung clip and needs a push to release.
