Does any one have a gear stick RHD 4 Speed from which they can give me the measurement to where the olive should be affixed onto the shaft.
Thanks

Re: Gear Stick
when I fixed my stick I fitted the "olive" just below where the stick had snapped ,the set screw in the olive seemed to have helped the stick to snap as the dimple that the set screw made is on the line!!.
how did you fix your stick?

I dont think, so I'm not[do I exist?]

Re: Gear Stick
Hi Dave F
Unfortunately DF I did not carryout the reconstructive surgery but I am reliably informed it was TIG welded and ground. My Surgeon tells me it was mild steel so it should be straight forward.
However in trying to be the ultimate professional he has covered all blemishes scar and dimples
So I have no idea where to attach my olive.
Can you help????

Re: Gear Stick
Hi DD, 6.2cm measured from the plastic onion to the top of the metal olive with the set screw,i don't think its to critical! [the 6.2cm].
Let us know how you get on with the gear linkage bits?

Re: Gear Stick
Hi
All now fitted and the olive has been set, fitted the nylon gear lever rabbits ears and the onion replacement from Brickwerks and all looking good, its nice and tight. I tried it first thing this morning and it was a little hit and miss on gear selection and felt lumpy so i need to go on to the next bit and look at the set up.
I could locate all the gears including R & G but it was not smooth and everytime. Before i go making drastic changes i need to take a closer look and diagnose if if is something i have done and i need a second pair of hands to assist.
I didn't think it was a good idea to wake up "her who must be obeyed" at 6:00 this morning to play with my gear stick!!!!
