Hazard switch jigsaw puzzle

I had to do a little whittling on the switch, and on the two spines on each side of the switch "caddy". Not much work with the dremel, and then it fitted perfectly. There was a diagonal socket to match the extra diagonal spade, which is connected to the dash lighting circuit. So I think there is a bulb/LED built into the switch, because the switch glows when the lights are on (in the old switch I'd jerry-rigged a small LED into the switch).

I used the old bulb and fitting to go into the new switch to provide the flashing when activated.

great! thanks i still have a stubborn 'hazzards on one side only' recurring problem, even after cleaning mine up. it worked breifly, now its back to one side again...

Is the resistor for an led? Looks as though it should be.

I ordered the same switch shown above as Scienceboy, although from GSF. The switch works, all the contacts match up, it flashes when active etc, though it did require some quite extensive fettling and filing to get it to clip into the dash pod. Not a straight swap at all, although it has remedied my problem and seems to work fine. funny how some parts sold as suitable for a vehicle, just aren't.. although that's nothing new is it. so if you've got the money going spare, id pony up for a proper one really.

The extra male 'diagonal' spade (see thread pictures above) on the new switch fits into my plug, and has corresponding lighting wires exiting the plug and off into never never land, but mine doesn't seem to glow when the van lights are on, as indicated in an above post. No problem, the old one didn't either. early van difference perhaps?

Check if the lead going to the diagonal gives 12v when you turn the lights on, if there's a wire to it. My old one didn't either, I modified it with a led.
