1.9 DG Vacuum line from distributor to ?

Post by RCN »

1990, 1.9 DG Petrol, Automatic Transmission
On the home stretch of putting the new engine in and i've got all but one hose left to connect.
Can someone tell me where the vacuum hose from the front of the distributor vacuum advance goes to? It's a very long hose and seems to curl to the right (as you look down into the the engine bay). The rear hose leads into the carb, and this hose is far to long for that. I had everything labelled with tape, but it seems that i missed this one and i can't see a place for it anywhere.
Cheers

Thanks 300CE. Yours is different. I see the hose from the back of the advance, but mine also has one from the front. Maybe it's an automatic transmission thing?

Hi,

Not an automatic thing, just a dizzy with vacuum advance and retard. There is a thread about it here: https://club8090.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=86353, although that one relates to a CU the connections should be the same for you....

Seems that the advance comes off the carb, and the retard comes of a T piece in the feed to the airflow deflector on the air box.

Cheers,

Alex

Cheers guys. I read on another thread via a Google search that one lead is the advance and the 2nd is a retard. My original engine didn't have the 2nd, so i blocked it off. Seems to run fine.
