Sliding door issue

Hello,

I have an issue with my sliding door lock. I have installed a new mechanism and can only get the door to lock, not open.

I have taken the handle and lock apart from the mechanism and the bolt on the door handle seems to only want to turn one way.

Any ideas?

with the handle in your hand,you should be able to move the locking bar in and out, it only moves a small amount, what happens when you do this and did it ever work with the key you have
