Smoke from hose connecting head cover & the air cleaner ....

Mine is a 1.6 D T3 Caravelle of 1983. Now almost 150k in the odometer. The engine is bit difficult to start. You have to operate the starter for sometime to get the engine to run. After getting started white smoke comes out from the hose connecting the head cover & the air cleaner chamber. :( Does anyone having any sort of idea about the things to do .................. ? Thanking in advance .................. :lol:
