I like that....yes a little white and you can see the individual LEDS but it's not bad at all...those 50:50's are very bright...a piece of tracing paper (grease proof oven paper) might diffuse and warm things a slightly.
To be honest the individual leds are probably more pronounced than the camera shows. I'm still pleased but I'll give the grease proof paper a go later as you suggest
danmetallic That bulb you fitted is that the one in the link you put on back on page one as i may be being daft but cant find where its for 12v or 240v for that matter.

Well they're a boat light supplier and there's the "Voltage range 10 - 30 volts DC"
With a fluorescent tube not working and having some off cuts of led ribbon in warm white I cobbled together this.
It is very crude but is didn't cost anything to make. The light is actually rather good in terms colour, spread and brightness. It is less white than it looks in the pics. You can obviously see the LED's through the diffuser. I've not committed yet as I haven't modified the actual light unit.
I popped one of the £25 LED tubes in, very happy with the results. Whilst I'd like to get all 3 done, it's quite a lot of money that I'm not sure I need to spend. I think in most circumstances just one tube switched on is good enough.
