high oil pressure switch t25 1.9 dg

Post by adrian1975 »

hi all, I have a 1.9 dg and have replaced the low oil pressure switch between the tubes (easy peazy) gone to do the rear one got the old one out using a 19mm socket once removed I discovered it was infact a oil temperature sensor made by vdo , the problem I now have is that the new high oil pressure sensor is the same thread as the low pressure oil switch (poss 1/8 npt) but maybe wrong, the oil temperature sensor that I removed has a massive thread poss m14 or that sort of size, I read somewhere that there is an adapter but cant find it on brickwerks, vw heritage, or just kampers, I found some on e-bay but need to know the 2 thread sizes if it possible to fit one even, the other question is why is it like this, thanks in advance Ade

Have a close look you may have removed the adapto with the sensor
they are both m10x1 but the high pressure switch has an adaptor as standard
i suppose somebody may have removed the origional adaptor to fit the non standard sensor

dont blame me if im wrong but just measured that one in the pic and i think its m16x1.5 to m10x1
