Help needed please cooling system

Post by Theclash »

I want to change the coolant on my 1.9 dg and flush the radiator and heater core but I'm having trouble understanding which pipes to undo and flush water through in the engine bay, does anyone have a detailed diagram/picture of said pipes. I'm ok with conventional engines but the boxer engine is all new to me.
I've read and read again the wiki but am unsure just exactly which pipe does what

All the pipes undo, but..
To flush the engine circuit remove the pipes from the heater core and attach a hose to one, when the coolant runs clear drain it at the thermostat housing.
For the radiator remove both pipes and do the same.
there will always be some left.

Thankyou itchyfeet,
No I didn't see that diagram on wiki :D I've a bit more of an idea now just that there's that many pipes in the engine bay it's a bit daunting
