Engine is 1.9 dg code
I have access to blue type antifreeze which we use in our trucks at work would this be ok
I use it in my golf with no problems but it's the head bolt horror stories on boxer engine that as prompted the question

As said, lots of info in the wiki but just to say this is what I (and many others) use = LINK as it is commonly available (I get mine from Euro Car Parts) and it meets with the recommended VW G12 spec (aka TL774D).
Got a new van, but it's a 165bhp T4 [shock horror] Accurate LPG Station map here

with your DG engine first and formost your coolant additive is a rust inhibitor and secondly an anti freeze.

Had a very frustrating afternoon at Halfords. Their website recommends their silicate a/f

Looking at their offerings the Comma G48 seems to better fit the bill according to the vehicle recommendations but it costs a fortune.

Where's the best place to buy it at the moment?

What about this? Seems to be the right stuff.

I'm not sure is right for £751?!?!?

Now this stuff is what's mentioned above. What's the dilution? 50/50? It's 50% of the price and presumably is decent water (ours is pretty hard).

We use Comma Xstream G30 as a good quality G12 spec coolant in all wbx engined vans. Meets VW TL774-D spec as required, is readily available and reasonably priced at £4 a litre (Camskill).
The Comma G48 you mention is equivalent to the earlier VW TL774-C or G11 spec, and is not appropriate for your engine.

Good to know, thanks.
Odd that 5x1 litre is cheaper than 5 litre bottle.
