REPLACEMENT T25 FRONT SEATS

Post by Bowton Lad »

A mate of mine is looking to replace the front seats in his 1981 T25 tin top. Apart from the Saab 900 & Rover 216 seats mentioned in the wiki, has anyone got any suggestions as to what will fit? My first T25 had Volvo seats fitted & iirc Volvo seats slide straight into the original VW mountings.
He doesn't mind doing some alterations to the runners etc to get the replacements to fit. Any ideas, please?

I've bought some alfa 147 seats to fit recently, modifications required but nothing major.

A pair of captains seats just come up on eBay for what looks like a decent price (one needs a bit of stitching). Description says will slide straight in:

I have a set of Granda Scorpio seats - they were a £20 bargain on preloved:

Thanks for all the suggestions so far. I will be compiling a list of all the seats mentioned. Please keep your ideas coming. Can anyone confim that Volvo seats wil slot straight into the original T25 runners? If so, does this apply to all, or just some Volvo seats? Thanks. :)

Thanks. I tried the MR2 link but it comes up as ''The topic you have requested does not exist''.

Maybe its an age thing - but I find the OE seats in ours very comfortable. I particularly like having arm rests both for support when driving and for comfort when swiveled round when parked up. The adjustable backs are great too for relaxing - I've even slept in the passenger seat once when we had a van full.

The Boxter and Scorpio seats above both look great and will be comfortable but I think I'll stick with what I've got. It could just be that I'm worried about falling out if there are no arm rests

All that being said I did once put some Recaros (out of an Opel IIRC) in a previous T25 and those went to SW Portugal and Switzerland and were very comfortable on the long drives that we did on those trips.
