I was looking at one of those a couple of months ago as a way of rigging up a spare wheel carrier off the tow bar - they have options to allow that bracket to sit vertically off the tow bar and then fold down out of the way of the back door.
Turns out they now make a version designed specifically as a spare wheel holder just like that with no further work required - see here. Only £99 +£10 P&P - probably the cheapest option for a Syncro spare wheel carrier.

Anybody know what happens about insurance if you start attachng things to the outside such as bike racks monkey bikes spare wheels roof racks roof boxes
Do you have to declare it?
What happens if it rattles off and causes third party damage would you be covered?
Had roofbars with fence panels on, bike racks and roofboxes before but it never occured to me check
I think we declared tge awning but hat was for theft cover

Love the Heart that hurts you,
But never Hurt the heart that loves you.
I like that.....i was thinking last night about using the mount and then fitting a monkey rack or an interchangeable 3 bike rack....
I think it would be tricky to make 1 that did both without too many sacrifices......but yours has got me thinking.
idea is that the little wheels drop into the slots.
just need to add a couple of uprights (welded into place) and maybe an end stop....and somewhere for the numberplate board to attach.
