Bulb holder for auto gear selector

Post by Sir Brixalot »

Good day fellow travellers. I've got an automatic autosleeper I can't see the gear selector easily in the dark. I' got new bulbs an there's power but once in the holder the bulbs don't work. So I think I need new holders. Probably as rare as hens teeth, does anyone know if the same bulb holders were used any where else

That's odd.the bulbs are not separate from the holders on my auto.I have just replaced mine with some LED ones from gowesty in the states.They cost me more than i expected after paying £11 to get them from the post office.

There always a chance that I broke them getting the bulb out, they work intermittently when I push and wiggle the bulb. They fit by pushing the holder through and twisting a quarter of a turn. Do you have a link for the ones you bought. I was driving along at 55 with my music full blast when I noticed the engine getting warm-I was in 2nd!

If your bulbs are removable then this bulb should fit.http://www.vwheritage.com/vw_spares_Das ... 128425.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Thanks. Wow they are pricey but make life a lot easier... I bought the bulbs from Brickwerks so they should have fitted.

ect ect

the bulb holder for the heater light excepts a 286 . I know some holders have fixed / soldered 286 bulbs tho , just cut he wire and fit a 286 , sometimes you need to move the tails slightly so they contact
