Have just dropped spare wheel from under cab to accomodate LPG tank next week.
Looking into the box- like shift linkage housing the plastic/rubber bellows is split exposing linkpin and spring. Is it a straightforward job to replace bellows without dismantling any of the linkage?
If they just push on thats great but I dont really want to disturb anything to do with gear change.
Van is 1990 1.9DG 5 speed manual
Thanks

Yes, straightforward although usually if you've carried out no work on gear shift linkage, it'll be worn in a few places by now.

Re: Split Gear Lever Belllows
Theres a very concise explanation of refurbishment of a 5-speed gear mechanism (including bellows) over two pages here: https://club8090.co.uk/wiki/Ge ... hanism_Pt1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
And for those with 4-speed, the principles are not all that different either. By the way, if you struggle to get the plastic cap that goes on the opposing end to the bellows, I do have one.

Re: Split Gear Lever Belllows
That is a brilliant article in wiki on gear lever refurb.
I did check wiki before posting but somehow managed to miss this!
Thanks
