Quick door handle question with pic..

Post by fairwynds »

Morning,
continuing the sanding down of my van today, working on the doors.
Metalmickey kindly advised (on my painting post) how to take off the door handles. Have removed them but would also like to refurbish the insides of them as they are full of crud and could do with a clean and oil.
I've removed the grub screw but what now...how do they come apart:

Many thanks..

there is a small roll pin that goes through the square part

rigt top to bottom left in your picture

give it a clean and you will see . you need to tap this out.

you may break a part trying , sometimes its easier to sacrifice one part to save the other and use another donor lock to replace the part
