Kayak on the roof?

Post by bowerbird »

Hello all,
I am just about to buy a 5m kayak(yey!) and want to be able to transport it on my van (1982 Autohomes Kamper). Does anyone have any helpful hints about what kind of roof rack setup I should consider or any other thoughts about the best way forward? There seem to be a lot of different ones and I have experience of none!
Thanks,
Nicky

Pictures in the link show them fitted on pop tops but not showing the roof up - i'm guessing they would have to work else it renders the roof useless. Its something i;ll be looking at fitting on mine - dont know about the ladder on the back though

I got an inflatable kayak for my Christmas, been out in it a few times, pretty impressive! It gets flung in the back when travelling, just put it outside when parked up.

ZPro Tango 200 was the one we went for, but they do a 3 seater. Just in case you've not 100% made your mind up!
