play in tie bar/rod

Hi
I'm new to this my van 1985 failed its mot one part is stated as excessive play in tie rod/bar am I right in thinking by replacing the track rod end ( whole peice ) and Replaceing the steering rack gaitor this then would sort problem out ?

can you confirm they actually mean the steering arm on the rack and not the bar that goes from the bottom suspension arm forwards through the chassis?

the track rod end will be a 'track rod' on the failure sheet , available seperatly

the steering arm on the end of the rack will be ' steering arm' or 'rack joint ' or similar and 2nd hand rack is cheapest

tie rod front bush will need anything form a bush to most likely a rod / bush / sleeve and possible even some chassis welding ( these wear the chassis out once they have lots of play)

you will need to confirm which part has failed
