1.9 dg plumbing

Post by armour »

hi folks

currently putting together my 1.9 petrol dg my van was originally air cooled,
iv run the 2 large pipes from radiator and can see that they need to connect to the 2 rubber pipes at back of engine bay,
where does heater matrix pipes go? are these just a rubber hose front to back?

also their is a black metal pipe runs from from left of engine held in with o ring, to right at rear of engine and has 1 outlet does this loop into the engine? ends behind alternator facing toward front of van if that makes sence will try take a picture

any help or point in right direction would be great

There are ealy and late cooling systems that are a bit different

Register with vagcat and you can see drawings of the parts in the parts cataoogue or look on vw heratige site under cooling systems and they have similar diagram

Put your van's registration date and details in your signature and we would have a better idea.

sound like you have the early pipes if they cross the engine bay. Yes the heater hoses are rubber coolant hose
front to back. That must be quite a complicated modification if you are fitting the heater unit, cables , oulets etc as well.

was looking through diagrams on etka, cany find 1 exactly like mine, [img][/img]
the dg diagram shows a pipe no 8 part no is 025 121 081 d this similar to mine but on the right side their is 2 outlets mine only has 1.
also the 2 large flow and return pipe that go into what is says is a bleeder valve on rear bulkhead shows 2 smaller pipe outlets for heater matrix pipes, mine doesnt have these
am so confused will get pics of mine up and try work out how to copy the diagram iv found on etka

i have the valve splittin pipes c and d into 4 , but dont have outlets for Q + R.
the metal pipe with rubber M at 1 end is 1 of the pipes am unsure where it leads too, is it just rubber pipe back into head?

so where do heater matrix pipes go in this system?
